St. Rose Church is pleased to be allowed to celebrate Mass with a congregation, for the first time in eight weeks, starting this weekend.
We will resume our normal Mass schedule: Saturday 5:00 pm, and Sunday 7:30 am & 10:00 am.
PLEASE NOTE that we are required by the State of Texas and the Diocese of Victoria to adhere to the following guidelines:
We are allowed to have no more than 84 people in our church at any given time.
Parishioners should take their temperatures before coming to Mass and should not attend if exhibiting any signs of sickness.
People over the age of 65 are encouraged to continue participating in Mass from home, as are people with any at-risk conditions.
Dispensation from Sunday obligation to attend Mass in person is extended through May, especially with respect to people who may be considered physically well to attend, yet believe it best to stay home.
Attendees should be careful not to gather too closely when entering or leaving church, or when standing in the communion line.
Priests, ushers, and parishioners should wear masks.
Missalettes and hymnals should be removed and not utilized during Mass.
Persons receiving communion are encouraged to receive in the hand.
For our church, we have set up the following procedures:
All congregants must approach the church through the main entrance on the west side. All other entrances will be locked.
Ushers will be at those doors to hold the doors open and to keep count of attendance.
Once we have reached our attendance limit, we will not be able to let anyone else in.
Those who must enter through the handicapped entrance must alert an usher for assistance.
Ushers will also assist in making sure that social distancing protocols are followed.
Our missalettes and hymnals have been stored away. You may bring in your own materials if you wish, for your own use. Any personal items left in church will have to be discarded.
Our collection basket will be available near the church entrance so that you may leave your contributions when you enter or leave. No collection will be taken during Mass.
OTHER NOTES:
If you are unable to attend Mass, you can make an appointment to receive communion at the church office during the week.
At this time, we do not have any scheduled times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. For now, if you wish to receive this Sacrament, please contact the parish office to schedule this.
We ask that everyone be patient, as we are all in uncharted waters, having to figure out how to navigate various guidelines in order that we can practice our faith safely and with full concern for others. As we see how things go this weekend, we will adjust our procedures as necessary.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the parish office.
